GUARANTY BANK     Downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa

After

In 2004, Guaranty Bank decided it was time to update their downtown drive-up. The old facility used a stand-alone building for tellers, which isolated them from the main building. In order to remedy this, the existing stand-alone building was demolished and new remote lanes were installed with video feeds that allow tellers within the Guaranty Bank building to service drive-up customers through transaction tubes that run overhead and back into the central teller area. Another challenge for this project was coordinating the tubes through the existing World Theater building and into the current bank lobby. The new entry to the drive-up lanes uses a system of brick columns with cast stone bases that support an entry signage element to create an elegant sense of place for the drive-up area and the parking lot.
