On the Northeast side Cedar Rapids, Lovely Lane Methodist
Church was looking to add classroom, library, youth lounge, choir
practice, and meeting space to their existing facility. The addition
allowed for a separate entrance from the main chapel.
The addition is constructed on a slopped portion of the
site with a walk-out lower level. In order to tie the new in with the
existing, wood siding was provided to match the existing building and
runs over both the upper wood framed walls and the concrete walls of the
lower level.
The addition was designed to allow for the installation
of a future elevator, as funds become available and the need arises.
