AEGON/KIRKWOOD TRAINING

After
Green design is a popular concept phrase in current
architecture, but many of the concepts behind green design have been
utilized by architects for generations. One of the key concepts in green
design is the reuse of existing buildings, where possible.
For this project, the chief challenge was the adaptive
reuse of an abandoned grocery store into a new office, training,
outreach, and meeting facility for AEGON and Kirkwood.
We were also able to repurpose the old grocery pick up lane into a sunny
vestibule, which incorporates extensive plantings and day light to
create a welcoming entrance to the building. The space also serves as a
break-away space for those looking for some quiet time for themselves.
